FAQ

What exactly is Flamenco Rising?

Flamenco Rising is an intimate, women-only retreat rooted in flamenco as a lived cultural language.

It is:

  • a cultural and embodied retreat
  • a lived flamenco experience
  • a space to move, feel, laugh and share
  • an experience designed to be enjoyed fully on-site

It is not:

  • a flamenco course or training program
  • a performance or show
  • a wellness or spiritual retreat
  • an experience that requires continuation afterwards

You come to live the experience fully — not to take something home to practise.

Is this a flamenco dance course?

No.

There is no technical training, no choreography to memorise and no final performance.
Movement is guided by rhythm (compás), listening and bodily awareness.

The focus is on experience and presence, not skill or progress.

Do I need previous dance or flamenco experience?

No previous experience is required.

Flamenco Rising is open to women with any level of movement background, including complete beginners.
Curiosity, openness and a willingness to move are far more important than experience.

How physically demanding is the retreat?

The retreat is engaging but not exhausting.

Daily sessions involve standing, moving and working with rhythm, balanced with rest, free time and shared meals.
Participation is always optional, and guests are encouraged to listen to their bodies.

This is not an athletic or performance-based experience.

What does a typical day look like?

Days follow a natural, unhurried rhythm rather than a strict timetable.

Mornings usually focus on rhythm, body awareness and movement.
Afternoons allow space for rest, conversation or solitude.
Late afternoons may include further embodied practice or cultural context.
Evenings slow down into shared meals, voice, silence or informal moments together.

There is no final show or presentation.

How long is the retreat?

The retreat lasts 5 nights / 6 days.

This duration allows the experience to unfold naturally, without rushing, while still remaining immersive and complete.

How many women participate?

Group size is intentionally limited to 8–10 women.

This ensures intimacy, depth, personal attention and a shared group dynamic.

When is the first edition?

Our first edition — the Founder’s Pilot — takes place October 22–27, 2026 (5 nights / 6 days).

Applications are reviewed on a rolling, personal basis, so early applications are encouraged.

Is this retreat suitable if I’m travelling alone?

Yes — absolutely.

Most participants are solo female travellers.
The retreat is designed to be welcoming, contained and supportive from the first moment.

If you choose a shared accommodation option, placements are made thoughtfully.

What is the age range?

Most participants are 30+, though there is no strict age limit.

What matters is a shared mindset: curiosity, respect, openness and enjoyment of embodied cultural experiences.

Where does the retreat take place?

Flamenco Rising takes place at Acepados, a private countryside estate located approximately one hour from Seville, in southern Spain.

The estate offers silence, privacy and uninterrupted time — essential conditions for this type of experience.

Why Acepados?

Acepados is not a venue designed for events or tourism.

It is a private estate that allows the retreat to exist without external noise, neighbours or distractions.
The place holds the experience quietly, rather than competing with it.

Who is behind Flamenco Rising?

Flamenco Rising is created by two women who know this world from the inside.

María created Acepados, the estate where the retreat takes place. After years of hosting guests from around the world, she wanted to build a retreat entirely her own — which led her to Daliris.

Daliris is the founder and director of Talento, her flamenco tablao and school in Seville, where she has spent her career teaching flamenco as something to be lived, not performed.

Together, they built Flamenco Rising around what each of them knows best: hosting, and flamenco.

Is transportation included?

Group transfers to and from Seville Airport are included at designated times.

Guests are responsible for booking their own flights.
Arrival and departure windows will be shared in advance to coordinate transfers smoothly.

What does it mean to join the Founder’s Pilot?

Joining as a founder comes with special pricing — from €2,100 (shared room) to €3,000 (private room) — with full details confirmed directly after your application.

In return, we ask founding participants for a short testimonial, permission to use photos and video from the retreat, and a brief conversation afterwards to help us refine future editions.

It is not a transaction — it is an invitation to help shape what Flamenco Rising becomes.

How much does the Founder’s Pilot cost?

Pricing for the Founder’s Pilot starts at €2,100 per person for a shared room, up to €3,000 for a private double room (single use).
